Good but expensive shipping very fast
Product deserves 5 stars, delivery deserves 1 star. I waited in all day after paying for overnight carrier service. I was advised the delivery driver attended site but never left a card for missed delivery. I asked for the product to be left in the garage if there was no answer.I was later told it was not possible to leave the sealant in the garage due to the nature of the product. When the product was redelivered (3 days later) it came in the morning instead of the arranged time slot in the afternoon. as I wasn't in the sealant was left in the garage!
very good product, after a good clean of the patio the product went on very well and leaves a very good surface shine and good value for money compared to similar products from the sheds.

Although I have use other Smartseal products this was my first time using the Patio Sealer. Using the recommended roller it went on easy and has given a great finish. You do need to make sure the patio is cleaned well beforehand as every stain and mark will remain. A great product. Thank you Smartseal.

Easy to apply, makes the patio look good as new. We've used it before and know that it will help protect against the worst of the weather during the winter, making the pressure washing next Spring much faster. Great service - fast delivery!

We have now used Smartseal several times finding the products and service are both great.
I have now applied the colour tint I collected on Friday and we are very pleased with the result. It took two coats to get the colour as we wanted but I still have some colour tint left so I don't think I have applied too much. . I also have plenty of Sealer left if I need it in the future. . I would like to thank you for the technical advice and very friendly way you and all your staff operate even with just a residential customer like me. I will certainly recommend your company to anyone.

The patio sealer is brilliant, sealed incredibly well, ( we have to get used to droplets of water over the patio after rain though). Also it highlighted and brought out the colours in the stone wonderfully. Only comment we have is that if you put the sealer on the patio slabs that are used for steps (we have) then it could be a slip problem when those droplets freeze in the winter. (thats our fault not the sealer.) Product is brilliant, does what it says on the tin.

I purchased one tin of patio sealer to try on the front patio. The results were so good that I had to purchase a further two tins to treat the main patio at the rear of the property. As I had some sealer left over - I then treated my mother-in-law's patio. I lost a weekend - but gained a few "brownie points"!

Patio Sealer for Pre-Cast Slabs and Flagstones
Protect patio slabs from staining and weed growth
Smartseal Patio Sealer has been developed to combat the constant problems of staining and weed growth and to enhance the colour and aesthetic appeal of new or mature patio slabs. We feel it is the best sealer for concrete patio slabs. The concrete patio sealer will increase abrasion resistance of the sealed patio and also protect the pointing from erosion. The concrete patio sealer also protects against weed infestation and provides a barrier to contaminants facilitating easy maintenance.

Technical
Application
Smartseal Patio sealer can be applied using a sprayer unit or roller, at a rate of 4 m2 per litre (pavers) 1st coat & 5 m2 per litre 2nd coat. A two-coat spray application is required to fully cover the jointing sand. The sealer will be tack free within 2 hours at 20°C and foot traffic may be permitted after 4 hours. These times may be increased or reduced depending on the ambient temperature. During the curing cycle, protect from rain. Do not apply when the ground temperature is above 30°C or below 5°C. All equipment should be cleaned with Smartseal cleaning fluid after use.
De-icing salts should not be applied directly on Smartseal block paving, patio or concrete sealers. Salt chemically reduces the temperature at which water freezes and will result in water ingress into the concrete. Subsequent freezing may result in the concrete ‘seal’ being broken by the expansion of water as it freezes and white ‘pitted’ areas may become visible.
Preparation
New Patios should be swept clean, ensuring there is sufficient pointing in the joints. Existing paving should be pressure washed to remove all surface debris. If the area is contaminated with weeds & moss then it should be treated with Smartseal Fungicidal Wash. Oil and other stains should be removed using Smartseal Cleaner or Oil Remover. The treated area should then be left to dry and the joints re-sanded & compacted to the lower edge of the paver chamfers with clean kiln-dried sand. Moisture in the paver & sand will inhibit penetration of the sealer and produce whiteness.
Technical & Test Data
Smartseal Patio sealer has been tested by the TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) and certified that it meets the SRV (Skid Resistance Value) for all categories of paving for local authority pedestrian areas and when heavily trafficked is suitable for special applications where risks of skidding are high as laid down in the UK Highway Authorities Tender Specification. “Newly laid Patio paving shall be treated with Smartseal Patio sealer to protect and stabilise the paving and pointing. application will enhance surface colour and increase abrasion resistance. All materials should comply with ISO9002 for Quality Assurance. All work should be carried out in conjunction with the manufacturer’s current technical data sheet and instructions for use”.
Health & Safety
Flammable liquid. Do not smoke. Keep application area well ventilated. Wear respirator when applying. Store in a cool place. Flash point 40°C (Abel-Closed Cup). Refer to the Health & Safety Data Sheet for further information.
